Tube services are very nearly back to "normal" levels seen before the Covid-19 pandemic, according to Transport for London.
Londoners were required to avoid using public transport unless absolutely necessary for around four months.
This combined with staff sickness saw a huge drop in services during the depths of lockdown, and as passenger levels plunged, so did TfL's revenue - with the transport body reporting a 90 per cent fall in fare income in recent months.
But as lockdown measures have eased, demand for transport has increased, with thousands of hospitality workers returning to work.
And this need to travel is only set to become greater. Thankfully, TfL on Thursday (July 23) said that Tube services are back to 95 per cent of their pre-lockdown levels.
In mid-July, Boris Johnson said it will be up to employers to discuss with workers whether it is safe to return to work from August 1.
The Prime Minister immediately scrapped the advice to avoid public transport in England, as he detailed plans to prevent another national shutdown.
But Sadiq Khan quickly raised concerns over the move to encourage staff back to workplaces, warning Tubes in the capital cannot be allowed to become "packed" again.
Regardless of politics, passengers are returning to the Underground, and according to TfL, the vast majority of services are running once again.
A spokesperson for TfL said: "We are now running near-normal levels of services (around 95 per cent this morning on the London Underground), but the need to maintain social distancing wherever possible means that we do ask customers to travel outside the busier times.
"We are providing the information customers need on when the quieter times are for their journeys."

My comment:
Hopefully, life will be back to normal soon and we can start to go onto the tube again.
If you do need to go on the tube right now: wear a face-mask and social distance. You can also see my youtube video, you can find it in another post.
